Salam! Welcome to FluentinPersian. Maybe you are a Persian descendant who just wants to talk to their grandma. Or maybe someone who simply wants to read Rumi’s poems in their original Language. In any case, you are at the right place.
I am Mohammad. I speak Persian (Native), English (C2), French (B2), and Turkish (A2). While learning French, I could clearly see the importance of the quantity and the quality of resources available for learning any language. When it comes to Persian, finding such resources can be very difficult. Thus, I have created this website as a personal project. My objective is to contribute to the language learners community as they have been kindly supporting me in my language learning journey.
Ready to start your journey?
I am building this website one day at a time. If you see some random text here and there, know that this is a work in progress.
Becoming Fluent in Persian can be a daunting goal. As any other skills, starting small and being consistent are super important when you start your language learning journey.
Starting Small. As adults, we are so much focused on the end goal that we truly forget about the journey. It is probably because we measure our process based on how close we are to the end goal (becoming fluent in Persian). A1, A2,… , C2. These are just meaningless combination of letters and numbers that we have collectively decided that have value. The journey is about learning a new language. Learning a new word is “learning a new language”, just as spending 8 hours immersing oneself in the target language is. So start small and enjoy “learning a new language”.
Being Consistant: I have come to this belief that in the first two months of learning any new skill, the objective is not to learn the skill itself, but to get into the habit of doing so. In fact, at first, the main goal is that learning the skill becomes an indispensable part of life. Like brushing the teeth or taking a shower. Only then the habit will propel the journey without the need for motivation. As a result, you can be consistant without effort. Consistency is the key to become fluent in Persian. The lessons here are very quick reads that do not need much brain power. Come back to them daily.
